CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Executive Director — Full Time
The Ithaca Health Alliance (IHA) is seeking a motivated individual to develop and implement programs that support the vision, mission, and goals of the IHA, according to the policies and guidelines established by the Board of Directors. A key component of this full-time position is to identify, cultivate, ask, and steward individual and institutional donors and funders. The Executive Director will solicit and secure funding from multiple sources to support current and new programming, to include actively seeking new revenue sources and supporting existing sources by developing and submitting proposals for government and private funding, and engaging the Board in fundraising and other development activity. The demand for the services provided by the IHA is growing and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and influence the growth and success of this important community resource.
The Ithaca Health Alliance was founded in 1997, and opened the Ithaca Free Clinic in 2006. Our mission is to facilitate access to health care for all, with a focus on the needs of the uninsured. Since our founding, we have used the contributions of our community to create a sustainable model of community-oriented, community-driven solutions to the ongoing healthcare crisis. Today, we have three primary programs: the Ithaca Free Clinic, the Ithaca Health Fund, and Community Health Education.
Skills and experience:
The successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to work with a broad and diverse constituency, managing several concurrent projects successfully, while continuing to perform the other required duties and responsibilities of this position.
The successful candidate will have an established proficiency to develop external funding support for the agency’s mission, as well as knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related, management, or human services field. Master’s degree preferred, but not required. The candidate should have five to seven years of increasing responsibilities for management and finance in a not-for-profit organization, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Interested applicants should submit a cover letter and complete resume with three references (including contact information) and salary requirements to IHA’s search consultant Scott Heyman at sheyman@hsctc.org, by December 11, 2015.
