As the Director of Development and Communications at AIM Independent Living Center, Charlette Smith handles agency development, capital campaign, fundraising, grants, events, marketing, public relations, branding, website, and social media. For the past year that Charlette has been with AIM, the biggest challenge of her position has been making sure that businesses, organizations, and the community are aware of the variety of programs and services offered by AIM. The AmeriCorps Kids First Initiative, a service of the Institute for Human Services, has 19 members who work directly with at-risk children and families in need through agencies across the Southern Tier. Although the 2012 - 2013 service year has only just begun, the members aren't wasting any time building relationships with the children they work with!

Rape Crisis Volunteer Counselor/Advocates Needed!Rape Crisis of the Southern Tier (RCST), a program of Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes, needs mature, caring, dedicated individuals to assist sexual assault victims in Chemung, Schuyler, and Steuben counties. After receiving certification training, volunteers are asked to provide counseling services on the RCST 24-hour hotline, as well as assist victims at hospitals and law enforcement agencies.If you are at least 18 years of age, have reliable transportation, a phone, and live within an hour of any hospital in the RCST catchment area, then this might be the volunteer opportunity you've been looking for! Interested in Hosting a STNED Meeting?
The Institute for Human Services is looking for host sites for the March and June 2013 Southern Tier Nonprofit Executive Directors (STNED) Meetings. The host agency will be able to give a tour of the site and speak for a half hour to share about the agency itself and the services provided. The site must have enough room for 20 - 30 people to meet. Learn More >

Steuben Rural Health Network Partnership Agreement Request
It is time once again for the Steuben Rural Health Network to participate in the competitive RFP process for continued funding, which allows the SRHN to offer conferences, events, and programs that promote the health of adolescents in our region. An important part of the application process is to show the support of our community partners. It would be greatly appreciated if you could support the SRHN by completing and returning the 2013 - 2017 Partnership Agreement no later than December 7, 2012. Learn More >
