Organizational Capacity Building Symposium Reminders

ocb matrixOur next symposium will be October 3rd at the Corning Country Club.  Registration and breakfast is at 8:30 and the symposium starts at 9 a.m.  Speaker Nancy Osgood will be presenting: Building the Bottom Line: Revenue Growth and Diversification.

Nonprofit Organization in the Spotlight - the John Southard Youth Recreation Commission

JSYRCThe John Southard Youth Recreation Commission is a nonprofit that is part of the Village of Bath.  The program provides safe and positive activities for youth by providing a summer program with field trips, arts and crafts, and tennis.  The program also hosts a Halloween Parade and Easter Egg Hunt, and all of these services are free for Bath residents!

You are invited to attend this year's INSPIRE Annual Meeting and Professional Development Workshop featuring Rhonda Morton of Savannah Consulting as the Keynote Speaker! The INSPIRE Annual Meeting will take place Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Corning Country Club. 

INSIPRE is a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to facilitating communication and awareness regarding teen reproductive health, mental health, physical health & nutrition, substance abuse and healthy relationships.  INSPIRE will serve as a broad-based, coordinated community effort to promote teen health and wellness in the Southern Tier.


Developing Effective Leadership Skills for Volunteer Managers - You're Invited!

Join IHS and the 2-1-1 HELPLINE Give Help program for our second Annual Volunteer Conference.  The Conference is an opportunity for organizations to share their experiences working with volunteers, build skills to better manage them, and learn about new trends and issues. Volunteer leaders of all different experience levels are invited to attend this event. This year's conference will feature a keynote presentation from Shirley Brown, panels of volunteer administrators and volunteers, and a conference wrap up discussion.



Steuben Rural Health Network to Offer Living Healthy Southern Tier Class in Hornell

Living Healthy Southern Tier is a fun and interactive workshop that brings people together who are interested in improving and maintaining their overall wellness.  During this six-week workshop participants discuss how to manage aches, pains and fatigue to better achieve their personal goals, make healthy food choices, incorporate physical activity into their routine without overdoing it and maintain a healthy weight.


MOM PROM 2013 - Join us for this FUNdraiser to benefit ProAction's CHAMP program


Enjoy a fun-filled evening at the Corning Country Club on October 19th with your lady friends (not just the moms!) and help raise money to make a difference in our community through Caring Hearts and Minds of Pro Action (CHAMP)!


Let's Walk for Wishes!

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western New York and regional residents are gearing up for the 8th Annual Walk for Wishes event in memory of former wish child Claire Murray. Please join us at Craig Park Pavilion in Painted Post, NY on Saturday, October 19th to give local children who have been diagnosed with life threatening illnesses a chance to fulfill their dreams.
